Local Area Information

Timber Hill is located near to the coast in St Brides Bay in Pembrokeshire and is ideally situated for trips and excursions to the many places of interest in the Pembrokeshire National Park.

Broad Haven is the nearest village. It has a Blue Flag beach and is less than 5 minutes by car or can be reached on foot from Timber Hill via the pretty 20 minute walk through stunning Haroldston woods. A short footpath off this will take you out to the coast path and spectacular views over St Bride's Bay with cliff top walks for miles.

To the north we have the vast expanse of beach at Newgale - local surfing hotspot!  The traditional harbour village of Solva is a short drive away and the famous but small city of St Davids, all within easy reach. Just south is Martin's Haven with it's ferry crossing to wonderful Skomer island famous for its puffins - not to mention wild flowers.

The dramatic cliffs and beach at Marloes is worth a visit, and Dale, situated in the lee of the mouth of the River Cleddau is popular with dingy sailing. Tenby and Saundersfoot to the south of the estuary are about a 45 minute drive away and although much busier, they are great for pub food and icecreams! There is also the hidden beach at Manorbier which can be yours only if you are prepared to swim around the headland or brave it through the wave crashing gulley depending on the tides!

There is so much to do but if you fancy at day back at camp, the site is very peaceful and the site is pretty.
